Hello!

Hello!  My name is Joanne Mansur and I am running for re-election to the ISD 197 school board.   I have been married to my husband Mark for 11 years and we have two beautiful children Grace, who is 10, and is in 5th grade at Friendly Hills Middle School and Sean, who is 8, and is in 2nd grade at Mendota Elementary School.  I am finishing my first term on the 197 board and have served in the following capacities:

Vice Chair/Clerk:  January, 2014 to present
Chair of the results committee:  January, 2014 to present
ISD 197 board rep to the Intermediate 917 board:  July 2014 to present

Why am I running for re-election?
The past four years have been an amazing experience for me personally and for our community.  Below are just a few examples of what we have accomplished and I am excited about the opportunity to continue to help move this district forward!

*  Worked with our community to create our ISD 197 Strategic Framework which are the guiding principles for our goals within the district.
*  Passage of referendums that have increased the funding we have in our schools.
*  Laser focused on increasing the achievement in our district and we have made progress towards that goal.
*  The opening of our new Early Learning and Family Resource Center which will increase the opportunity for our youngest learners to have quality pre-school opportunities.
*  Passage of a bond referendum that will implement secure entrances to all of our schools.
*  Working to implement the district EmPowerED initiative that will move our district along on the path of personalized learning for each student.
*  Continue to see positive results on our annual community survey.
